David de Gea was in a very honest but defiant mood following Spain's shock World Cup exit at the hands of Russia on Sunday.

After the two teams couldn't be separated following normal and extra-time of the last-16 clash, Spain were defeated 4-3 on penalties, with Manchester United goalkeeper De Gea failing to save any spot-kicks.

The Spaniards, who sacked Julen Lopetegui on the eve of the World Cup, struggled throughout the group stage and were also laboured against Russia as they were dumped out of the competition.
