A cardiologist has been able to diagnose himself of Kidney stones with the aid of his mobile phone.
Dr. Topol, a California based doctor after experiencing pains in his sides for several days decided to find out what was wrong with him.
The doctor, who works at Scripps Health in La Jolla, plugged a portable ultrasound scanner into his phone and held the device against his body.
The scanner then sent images to his device confirming a swollen kidney, which is often brought on through stones.
His diagnosis was later confirmed by doctors at hospital.
