Nowadays with a very good comb and rubber band, the look is set, the swollen and bulky tips add to the Jazzy Afrocentric you.
Many celebrities and on air personalities are in on it too, the likes of Yeni kuti, TY bello, Asa, Jumoke Alwode James are naturalist with their hair.
This trend gets a thumps up and has come stay.
The African Hair
African people are blessed with an uneven pattern of hair. They are usually thick, hard and very painful. This hair texture type has been regarded as a 4A or 4C by some individual. The number ‘4C’ is used to categorize the black man race hair.4C is a hair type characterized by different uneven patterns bound on the scalp. The patterns of this hair type comprise of very curly, wavy and zig-zagged dimensions. This hair type is simply prone to dryness, brittleness and breakage.
4A hair type is a lighter texture compared to 4C. Occasionally 4C hair becomes impossibly stubborn and difficult to comb that was what made people to relaxed their virgin hair.
In some cases, relaxing of virgin natural hair does not turn out well for other people. In those cases, the hair started breaking continuously and having a particular growth limit.
Though this hair type appears difficult but it is actually the most fragile of all hair categories i.e; 2C, 3C, 4B and so on. Our type of hair is incredibly amazing in aspects of hair styling.
Natural virgin unprocessed hair can be versatile depending on how you want to look.
1. Curls: The virgin natural hair can be rolled to give wavy and curly bounce. Hair products like shea butter, styling gel, spritz and any other thing of choice when applied will give the perfect look one desire. All you need do is apply all these and set your rollers then wear a satin cap after rolling and your hair comes out curly and bouncy the next day. The rollers size will depend on individual hair length.
2. Braids: Weaving of hair or braiding with extensions is achievable. For our hair texture, the kinky attachment is preferable. Due to how it is formulated and processed, it has a comparable nature to the African hair. Different from the look of virgin hair strands peeping through processed attachment, that untidy look is absent when kinky weaves are used.
3. Fixing: The belief that since an individual keeps natural virgin hair fixing should be out of the question is not true. For protective styling it is advisable to fix when there is harsh weather condition to prevent hair from breakage. This is called protective styling. You can have long virgin hair and enjoy these styles but there is a process to achieving and maintaining long 4C hair.
In contrast with the natural relaxed hair that should be dry all times, virgin hair needs moisture. However, don’t mistake moisture for wet. It means to damp the hair or a little bit drier than damp. Moisturize hair with oils which can be bought in the mall.
It’s good to maintain a hair routine which could be twice a week, once or daily. Your activities during this routine will be application of treatments. castor oil, shea butter, coconut oil are advisable.
