| late Senator Isiaka Adeleke |
Dr. Solaja said before the investigating Coroner Mr. Olusegun Ayilara, that the police officer requested for an autposy to be done on the late Adeleke and that he submitted the report to the police.
He claimed the reports presented and signed on April 23 by the coroner Ajiboye Dorcas Olubunmi, who had requested for forms Band C, which contained the autopsy report, in the presence of the Adeleke family.
The Pathologist fielding questions from Dr. Ajibola Basiru, immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties, who appeared at the inquest as an observer, said submitting the autopsy report to the police did not amount to professional misconduct.
Bashiru, a commissioner nominee in Osun State, asked the pathologist, “We’re you engaged by the Adeleke family to do the autopsy?” Solaja's said No.
Solaja was also asked if he was obliged to submit the result of the autopsy to any other person other than the coroner, who requested for it, the pathologist responded that saying he was not supposed to give the autopsy report to any other person other than the coroner.
The evidence given by pathologist contradicted the claim by Adeleke's family, who said they were considering a legal option against the Chief Medical Director of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Prof. Akeem Lasisi, for not giving them the autopsy report despite their request for it.
Dr. Deji Adeleke, the younger brother of the deceased and representative of the family, said the family requested for the autopsy but the CMD had refused to give them the report but appeared before the Coroner, Ayilara, and gave evidence on the cause of death of the late senator.
