FG retracts statement,says rescued girl not one of the Chibok abductees

The Federal government has on thursday retracted its announcement  that the rescued girl by the military was one of the 219 Chibok girls abducted in 2014 by the radical islamic sect BokoHaram.

The girl was rescued by the military while fleeing from men of Bokoharam sect.

Hours after the news of the rescued girl broke, the spokesman of the vice president, Mr. Laolu Akande took to twitter to clarify the information sent out saying that the girl though not part of the missing 219, was a junior secondary student at the same school, Chibok. his tweets read:


The #BringBackOurGirls initiative via twitter however reacted to the news of the freed girl saying she was not on their list of abductees of the group of girls abducted 3years ago but expressed joy at the rescue  of anyone freed from the clutches of Boko Haram.

The BringBackOurGirls is an initiative championing the campaign of the release of the abducted girls who were captured in 2014 from their School in Chibok town, Bornu State.
So far 106 girls have been released including the 82girls released about 12days  ago, out of the 219 girls captured.
Young men and boys were also captured and forcibly enlisted to carryout the jihadist agenda of the BokoHaram sect.
