Akninfesi 14, confessed to the Police that she had laced the 63 year old Akinlosotu's food with rat poison because of his maltreatment towards her.
Akinlosotu who narrowly escaped being poisoned said he had detected that his food had a strange taste and offensive odour, which led to his vomiting the little he had eaten.
Mr Femi Joseph, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo state on Tuesday said the Police would not be prosecuting the accused at the behest of Akinlosotu to drop the charges.
:“The complainant (Akinlosotu) has written to us to withdraw the case. So, there is nothing the police can do other than to obey the instruction of the complainant.
“We intend to do our job, but we don’t want a situation whereby we will get to the court and the court will say we are crying more than the bereaved, that is why we are leaving the case,” Joseph said.
