Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid: Halftime report

The Champions League  semi-final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid has headed into halftime with Ronaldo's goal being the decisive moment of the match.

This is what football experts are saying:

Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville:

Cristiano Ronaldo is a genius - he is the greatest and it's just an honour that we are able to witness him at his best.

I know people say he is slowing down a little but Zinedine Zidane has been looking after him well and I can tell you, he will have an impact tonight - I can bet my life on it.

He sits back for a lot of the game now and conserves his energy for those bursts to blast someone with pace and skill.

Like I said, many people say he is slowing down but he comes alive on nights like tonight.

European football guru Pete Jenson:

"There's one theory that if Atletico win it this year, that's the perfect time for Simeone to go and nobody would blame him.

"But anything other than that, if he leaves as they're moving to a new ground, he probably wouldn't do that. So there's more chance of him leaving if they do win it."
