UTME candidate arrested over possession of a 'pistol'


The Nasarawa State commandant of The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mr. Bashir Lawal-Kano, hinted newsmen on Thursday about the arrest of a 21-year-old, candidate of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, who was arrested for bringing firearm into one of the centers at the ongoing examinations in Nasarawa State.
It was learnt that the candidate was arrested during a search before the commencement of the UTME in Nasarawa State Polytechnic.

He said that the suspect would be charged to court for illegal possession of firearms, adding that even registered guns were not allowed at examination centers.
