Five lucky football fans and consumers of Star Lager beer were rewarded by the parent company Nigerian Breweries Plc. with all-expense-paid trip to the United Kingdom to watch a live match.
The company who became official partner with Arsenal Football club and five other major European clubs in 2016 and early 2017 said in a statement the lucky fans left the country a fortnight ago to watch Chelsea and Arsenal clubs play at the 2017 English FA Cup final live at the Wembley stadium, the company .
Tokunbo Adodo, the Portfolio Manager, National Premium, Nigerian Breweries was quoted to have said, “Star Lager Beer is all about premium quality and adding fun and excitement to the lives of our consumers and football lovers across the country.
“As with every initiative we undertake, the all-expense paid trip to the FA Cup at Wembley stadium was yet another clear demonstration of how importantly we take consumer delight.”
One of the lucky fans, Olakumbi Titiloye, was quoted to have said, “I’m very excited to be making this trip. As a die-hard football fan, seeing live action at the stadium, especially an FA Cup final at Wembley of all places, was one opportunity I wouldn’t miss and an experience I would forever cherish.”
Star Lager was introduced into the Nigerian market on June 2, 1949, the statement added.
