ALEXIS SANCHEZ is closing in on a move to Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.
The Arsenal contract rebel has attracted the interest of several top clubs this summer.
And kicker claims, Bayern are leading the race and will offer him a ridiculous £21.7million-a-year deal
Sanchez has been one positive of Arsenal’s lacklustre season as he has scored 29 goals in all competitions.
But his haul could not help the Gunners get into the Champions League, as Arsene Wenger’s side failed to force their way in on the final day.
Sanchez’s representative Fernando Felicevich was reportedly in Germany last month to hold talks with Bayern chiefs.
Manchester City are also in for the Chile international, with Pep Guardiola chasing the player he managed at Barca.
But the Gunners would prefer to sell to a club abroad and with Bayern offering the greatest chance of lifting the Champions League.
Wenger has been Arsenal’s highest-paid employee throughout his 21-year reign — arguing a manager is the most important person at any club.
His new two-year contract means he will continue to earn around £160,000 a week — about £10,000 more than the basic wage of ¬highest-paid player Mesut Ozil.
Wenger reluctantly agreed to ditch his principle as he tries to keep Ozil and Sanchez – who are demanding £300,000 per week – at the Emirates.
But Sanchez, 28, could still quit the Gunners after cutting a frustrated figure at times last season.
