Billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans as filed a lawsuit against the Inspector General of police and three others against illegal detention.
This new law suit was filed yesterday by his counsel, Olukoya Ogugbeje in which Evans demanded for 300 million naira for exemplary damages against the police for what he termed as ‘illegal detention and unconstitutional trial’.
In the new suit which was brought before the Federal High Court, Lagos, Evans is seeking a declaration that his unlawful detention since June 10 without legal process or bail violates the fundamental human rights under the constitution of 1999.
He made a declaration that his parade made by the police on June 11 without any court order is unconstitutional and unlawful.
He also sought an order to stop further arresting, harassment and detaining of him in police custody.
There is no specified date yet for the hearing of the case.
