She was caught on surveillance camera using a pillow and her hand to suffocate her one-year-old son at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, police said.
According to news station WTVD, the boy was being treated for a respiratory infection at the hospital Saturday night when staff members saw Dixon on the surveillance video.
Within 15 minutes Dixon tried to strangle her child four times, according to the authorities who reviewed the footage
Dixon was taken into custody and charged with attempted first-degree murder and felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.
