In continuation of its investigation into alleged connivance between the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),and some major oil marketers across the country, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it has so far recovered a total of N328,988,296,990.62.

The disclosure was made Wednesday by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren.
According to Uwujaren, the Commission’s investigation was triggered by a petition of alleged malfeasance against the NNPC and PPMC.
He disclosed that the recovery was just part of a whopping N40 billion alleged to have been lost to the deal.
Uwujaren, who noted that the Commission’s zonal office, undertook the investigation.
This was as he added that upon conclusion of preliminary investigation, officials of the NNPC/PPMC and Managing Directors (MDs) of the following oil firms were invited for interrogation: Conoil Plc, Total Plc, OVH Energy Plc, Oando Plc, Forte Oil and Gas Plc, Mobil Plc, MRS Oil Plc, and NIPCO Oil Plc.
