Lagos APC council chairmanship aspirant killed by PSP truck a day to election in a strange accident

It was a sad Friday for the families and supporters of Shakiru Balogun, aka SAB, chairmanship aspirant of the Ikotun/Igando Local Council Development Area, whom was killed in a strange accident on the eve of local government council election in Lagos State.

Gracagist correspondent at the scene of the accident which occurred around 1pm on Friday gathered from from eyewitness that Balogun was going to the council secretariat  when the driver of the PSP truck, which was on the other side of the returning lane, lost control of the truck, jumped over to the other lane and rammed into the Toyota 4runner at Okofili Bus Stop, LASU-Isheri Road, killing him on the spot. 


Before his demise, Balogun was a former Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees of the LCDA.

The accident led to a serious traffic on the LASU-Isheri Road for over four hours, forcing vehicles to seek alternate routes.

One of the bus drivers that spoke with our correspondent claimed the incident has spiritual undertone because of the way and manner it occurred.

Another residents said similar accident occurred in front of the Igando General Hospital a day before.
