Nasir Yanmama, a northern Nigerian with a knack for technology received an award at the 2017 Queens Young Award, Buckingham Palace.
The ceremony took place on 29 June 2017 where he was awarded for his work in Agricultural Technology.
The 27 year old is the founder of Verdant Agitech who uses low cost technology to improve the Nigerian Agricultural Sector.
Verdant became operational in 2015 and has helped over 25,000 farmers increase their yield.
Another Nigerian in person of Bukola Bolarinwa was also awarded at the ceremony.

Her work on the regulation of blood transfusion was recognized and she was awarded. Mrs. Bolarinwa was given birth to sickle celled and her work began after she noticed the challenges sickle celled patients are facing.
On this huge honor, she said, "I believe the Queen’s Young Leader Award will improve my leadership skills and help me to cement already established links with universities and colleges to develop a culture of voluntary and regular blood donation.”
Her current goal is to recruit 5,000 registered blood donors by December 2017.
