Real Madrid 'approach Eden Hazard's representatives

Real Madrid have made an approach to Eden Hazard's 'close circle' as they step up their pursuit of the Chelsea star, according to reports in France.

Hazard's father Thierry claimed last month that his son rejected a contract offer from Chelsea to keep the door open to a potential move to Madrid - though he admitted there had been no contact from the Spanish giants yet.

The player himself has admitted he 'admires' Los Blancos but insisted he had no intention of leaving Antonio Conte's side for now.

But Radio Montecarlo report that Madrid have now reached out to Hazard's 'close circle' in a bid to lure the Belgian away from Stamford Bridge.

The French radio station report that Hazard has rejected two contract offers from Chelsea, including an offer to make him the best-paid player in the Premier League.

Zinedine Zidane has made Hazard his top transfer target as he looks to revitalise his side in the summer after a disappointing defence to their La Liga title this season.

Hazard said it would be a 'dream' to play under the Frenchman at the Santiago Bernabeu and described Zidane as 'an idol'.

Madrid are also reportedly targeting a move for Hazard's Chelsea team-mate Thibaut Courtois in a bid to overhaul their rivals Barcelona next campaign.

Hazard has been in dazzling form for Chelsea once again this season with nine goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.

Conte's side face Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup clash at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
