Harry Kane has signed a new six-year deal with Tottenham that could be worth as much as a staggering £90million.
As Sportsmail exclusively revealed first on Friday, the England captain has had his £100,000-a-week salary doubled but with bonuses his earnings could rise to as much as £15m-a-year, putting him on a par with the best paid players in the Premier League.
Chairman Daniel Levy has responded to the commitment made by manager Mauricio Pochettino, who only last month agreed a new five-year deal, by now securing the services of the club's best players as they prepare to move into a new state of the art stadium.
Via a video posted to Tottenham's Twitter page, Kane said: 'I've just signed a new contract. Delighted for that, can't wait to see all you fans in the stadium next season.'
He later said: 'I'm really excited, it's a proud day. Obviously it's been a great few seasons and I'm looking forward to the future.
'I'm looking forward to the new stadium first and foremost and just to keep progressing as a club.
'It's been fantastic to consistently get in the Champions League so I'm really excited to have another go at that and with the Premier League and FA Cup, we'll look to go as far as we can. For us as a club, it's just about keeping improving and we'll work hard to do that.'
Kane only signed his last deal in 2016, but Levy recognises the manner in which Kane has risen to become one of Europe's most prolific strikers. Last season, he netted 41 goals for the north London club.
The club officially announced Kane's new deal, which runs until 2024, on Friday afternoon.
They did so via a short video on Twitter, which saw Kane in a control room, as if operating the big screens at their new stadium.
The message confirming that Kane has signed his new contract was then superimposed on to the screens.
