Teenage girl seriously injured after car accident

A teenager has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Wigan .

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on Manchester Road, in Astley, just after 8am on Wednesday morning.

The girl, understood to be in her early teens, was treated at the scene by paramedics.

She was then taken to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in an ambulance.
