Trump puts blame on 'criminals' for using kids as cover to cross boarder

As the outrage mounts over President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy that separates children from their parents at the border, Trump blamed “criminals” for using kids as cover to cross into the United States.

“Children are being used by some of the worst criminals on earth as a means to enter our country,” Trump complained on Twitter on Monday. “Has anyone been looking at the Crime taking place south of the border. It is historic, with some countries the most dangerous places in the world. Not going to happen in the U.S.”

The president is defending his strict stand on immigration by arguing that immigrants are using children to enter the country because previous policy allowed for people caught crossing the border with their families to be released while they await a deportation hearing.
