Transfer Targets: Jose Mourinho admits Manchester United may miss out

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted he may not get the players he wants in this transfer window as he looks to close the gap with Manchester City.

Mourinho watched his team draw 0-0 with San Jose Earthquakes in Santa Clara on Sunday and afterwards appeared downbeat about his prospects of welcoming more new players before the deadline on August 9.

have signed Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant this summer but there is a nervousness among fans that it will not be enough to overhaul City, who won the Premier League title by 19 points last season.

Asked directly at Levi's Stadium whether there will be more signings, Mourinho told a news conference: "One thing is what I want and another thing is what is going to happen."
