A housewife, Maimuna Jaafar, on Tuesday dragged her 27-year-old husband, Abbas Kabiru, to a Sharia Court at Magajin Gari, over an alleged non provision of shelter for her and their four-year-old daughter.
The complainant, who was represented by her counsel, Kabiru Alhassan, said that she wanted to divorce her husband through khul’i.
Khul’i is a form of divorce permitted in Islam where a woman initiates divorce by returning the dowry she received from her husband.
