Breaking News: Sunderland have been relegated

Sunderland suffered a defeat at home to become the first EPL side to be relegated this season.

The game  ended Sunderland 0-1 Bournemouth.

Bournemouth hit Sunderland on the break, and hit them hard. Ryan Fraser squares it, it's a tap-in for Josh King whose 88 minute goal sent Sunderland parking.

Before the game began, these are what the managers said:

Sunderland manager David Moyes: 

"While we still have a chance we will keep fighting. We want a winning momentum and we want to rediscover that winning feeling.

"A long-term plan is definitely needed for this football club. Unfortunately, a lot of people want to talk about it but they don't actually want to see that this is the way it has to happen.

"But we will put it in place. There are a lot of things done behind the scenes we are trying to improve on."

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: 

"It is difficult to have sympathy with an opposition manager until after the game as the focus is so much on your team.

"We would love to get over 40 points this weekend, that is the one every one talks about, then we can move on from there.

"We will not be underestimating Sunderland. I have seen many amazing things in football, so our mentality has to be to go out against a tough side fighting for their lives."
