Elton John cancels concert after falling ill from unusually deadly infection

Remember Elton John, the “Sacrifice’’ crooner who sang a glowing tribute song “Candle in the Wind” for the late princess Diana in 1997 and whose gay marriage made the tabloids . Yes, That one! He is in the news again.

This time the 70 year old English singer, pianist, and composer had a very big health scare that led to the cancellation of his concert slated for the months of April and May.

The septuagenarian singer got hit by more than just the flu, doctors diagnosed that Elton John contracted a “harmful and unusual” bacterial infection.

Although Elton John is on his recovery path, he was forced to cancel the he April and May dates of his Las Vegas residency, The Million Dollar Piano, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and his May 6 performance in Bakersfield in California

Representatives from the Elton John team gave official statements on the state of his health on ABC news, the statement read:

John got infected on a trip to Chile in South America was admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for two days where he  fought for his life against the deadly bacterial infection.

John's Rep. revealed that the timely intervention of his (John) medical team, the disease which was very fatal was nipped in the bud He said “Infections of this nature are rare and potentially deadly,”
The legendary singer apologized to his fans in a statement that read “I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologize for disappointing them."

Indeed a grateful John knew the value of life enough to appreciate his doctors whose timely treatment saved his life he said:

“I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well".

Elton John is expected to hit the stage in June after he must have made full recovery.

Elton John a multiple award winner which includes five Grammy awards w and five Brits. awards  declared for the first time his bisexual status in 1976 and his gay status in 1988.

He got married to David furnish his gay partner after gay marriage was legalized in 2014. 

John  and David's relationship was described by  an American writer Daniel Payne in June 2016 as the "big lie of gay marriage" accusing the singer and his partner of sleeping with several other partner.
