Mide Martins Celebrates Husband on Instagram

Popular Yoruba actress and daughter of late actress Funmi Martins, Mide Martins was a year older yesterday, her colleagues in the industry and fans took to social media to celebrate the beautiful and talented actress.

"Mide still basking in the euphoria of her birthday, Mide took to instagram this morning to express her love to her actor husband Afeez Abiodun aka Afeez Owo whose birthday is today.

Mide Funmi Martins, which was born on April 12, is a Nigerian film actress and producer. She is popularly known for Omo oku òrun (2004), Erù elérù (2003) and Arewà (2003).

During the 12 years late mother, another Yoruba movie actress, Mide Martins wrote this beautiful message in remembrance of her mum and also shared some new photos of herself.

“12yrs gone!!!……With a heavy heart and a profound gratitude to God for a memorable life. It is exactly 12yrs today you left us and it seems like yesterday. I remember you today my sweet and loving mother. May your precious and gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace (Amen). I love you but God loves you more. You were indeed a jewel of inestimable value, you left your footprints in indelible sands of time. You will forever be remembered in my heart. Rest on mama. Miss you a great deal…….mide Funmi-Martins”.

Her husband, Afeez Abiodun, is a native of Iseyin in Oyo State,Nigeria. He started his education in Iseyin where he attended St. Paul Anglican School, Idiroko, Faramora Secondary School and IDGL where He completed his secondary education.

Moving to Lagos, Afeez continued his acting career which he started in his primary school days, he loved acting at a very young age. He wrote a drama entitled “Kokoro Aiye” for his school and people liked it. “Afeez Owo” as he is popularly called, produced his first movie titled “Majen sinwon waiye” in the year 2000.

Speaking on the reason she married her husband in an interview, Mide said:

“It is a normal thing for one to develop affection and feelings for someone who is always there for you… especially the person that was really of help when no one was there. My husband was the only person that was there for me during this period and that’s one of the reasons I fell for him. And then I love him actually. He was my mum’s manager before she died but before she died we were best of friends and that’s where the feelings started from. So after she died we became even closer, go out together, work together on some of the movie scripts mummy left behind and from there, things started going and thank God this is our 12 year together”.
