Police in Kano state have arrested the former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, at his home in Sharada and was taken to the Zone one command of the state police where he is still being detained and interrogated. Lamido, according to report, was arrested for allegedly inciting his supporters to go violent if the results of the local government elections being organised by the current administration of Governor Muhammad Badaru are rigged. The council elections are scheduled to hold on July 1st.
Police have also carried out searches in his homes in Kano and Jigawa States.
