Princess or Commner Marvis? More controversies trail #BBNaija ex-housemates

Still on the aftermath of this year’s edition of the Big Brother Naija reality Tv show, Marvis Nkporwins, one of the five housemates that made it to the finals is making waves in the media  over her royal status.

Marvis who as result of her claim of being a princess and her father, the King of Eleme kingdom in Rivers state has been under attack, generating controversy as regards the authenticity of her claims.

 Marvis, during the early weeks of the eight week Tv reality show told her fellow housemates that she was from a royal family in Eleme Kingdom in Rivers state.


The 20 year old ex-housemate of the Big Brother Tv reality show is a Mass Communication graduate, turned entertainer.

Her pet aversion is disrespect and it gets her really angry. “I’ve never been in fights; I’ll finish you with my mouth.”

This Achilles heel of hers as been linked to be the reason why her last relationship ended because she couldn’t handle the long-distance and they quarreled a lot.

She (Marvis) returned to her state and was given a royal welcome by her Father's kinsmen. Everyone at the welcome ceremony which was attended by her fellow housemates Bisola and Kemen, referred to her as Eleme Princess.

However a lady identified as, Dorathy Osaronu,  took to her Facebook timeline to allege that Marvis is an impersonator.

It is obvious that she (Dorathy) is also from one of the royal families in Eleme Kingdom, her allegation that she (Marvis) is not a princess as her father is not a King in Eleme has generated debate on her timeline.

Indications points to the fact that there has been a tussle over the rulership of the kingdom by Marvis' family and Dorathy's family, as both fathers lay claim to the throne and have since gone to court for redress.

Dorothy in a bid to back up her claim went on to share a document claiming to be from the state government recognizing her father as the ruler of the Eleme kingdom.
She and her Sisters have since have allegedly accused Marvis, a of impersonating them, the supposed real Princesses of Eleme Kingdom.

To back up Dorathy’s claim, one facebook user with the username, Godspower Igwe wrote;

“Please, I am coming up here because of the volume of comments raised so far, I have served as Chief Press Secretary of Eleme Local Government Council”.

“Without tilting towards any political, parochial nor clannish dispositions, Eleme (as it stands now), have only one Royal Majesty-he is His Majesty, Sir Dr. Olukka Ejire, “One eh Eleme de 10th, while Onne is ruled by HRH Chief Dr. J.D. Osaronu”.

“Udeme Obot should be guided be guided by his current employers at Eleme LGA”.

 Another interesting twist to the story, was when another facebook user, with the username, Chika David Oparaodu commented on the controversy saying;

“Unnecessary drama cos she was given a royal welcome”.

”It was so uncalled for. For once Marvis never called herself a princess in that house. Then again I was live in her father’s palace and I heard people refer to him as his majesty”.

“Then again onne wahala no concern me. But they should let the girl be”.

“The men wey dey call their wives/babes queen or princess e mean say all of them from royal family? #smh”.
