Cult Resurgence as four dies in fresh clash

The Resurgence of cult activities in Rivers State has led to the killing of four in fresh classes that erupted in some communities of the state.

 It was learnt that Anar Assor was killed and beheaded in Omudioga community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

These killings happened just after the community was resettling from attacks which took place last week Wednesday.

 The Attacks were allegedly reprisal attacks by the dreaded Iceland cult group, who killed and beheaded Anar Assor.


Chinyere Amadi,the Omudioga Youth President, confirmed the attacks stating that the beheaded Assor was suspected to have belonged to the Deygbam cult group- a rival cult group to the Iceland cult.

 

These cult groups were alleged to have engaged in a heated argument which led to the ensuing uprising in the communities a member of the community named chuks said

In Ikwere community specifically in Omadema, the two cult group clash led to the death of two persons.

Amadi said people now live in fear in the communities, wondering how the attacks happen despite security presence in the communities.

A member representing Ikwerre constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly- Azubuike Wanjoku condemned the resurgence of cult violence in the area, callin g on security operatives to work art curbing criminal activities in the state.
