A baby born in Brazil has become an internet sensation after she started walking just a few minutes after being born.
Usually a baby won’t start walking until around 12 months old, and certainly not before crawling, sitting up and being able to hold their own head up.
When the video clip was uploaded to Facebook it generated 72 million views, over 1.6 million shares and 339,000 reactions.
However some people believe its authenticity is dubious.
The midwife couldn't believe what she’s seeing:
“Oh my gosh, the girl is walking. Good gracious!” she says.
Another person in the room then says: “Wait, let me film this.”
The midwife explains that she’d been trying to give the baby a bath, but she just kept wanting to get up and walk.

Everyone in the video is astounded at the strength of the newborn and what they’re witnessing.

“Merciful father. I was trying to wash her here and she keeps getting up to walk,” she explains.
“She has walked from here to here,” she adds, point out the area the child has already covered.
It’s not clear who the baby’s parents are or in which hospital she was born, but the midwife’s robes imply she works at a Santa Cruz Hospital, in a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, south Brazil.
People are calling the newborn a ‘miracle baby,’ as the video astounds the world.
However, the baby could simply have what is known as a primitive reflex which is present at birth: although a newborn cannot support its own body weight, if held up, when the soles of their feet touch a flat surface, they will try to walk by putting one foot in front of another.
