Mother charged for stabbing 4-year-old daughter to death

Laquita Lewis, a 34 year old mother from Houston was charged with capital murder for stabbing her 4-year-old daughter to death at her houston apartment complex.

The relatives contacted the sheriff's office. When the police arrived, they found Fredricka Allen dead at the apartment around 9 p.m. Authorities believe the girl was stabbed to death earlier in the day.

Police say Lewis stabbed the girl multiple times in the chest and left her on the floor of the master bedroom, the station reports.

“It’s a very horrific type scene, senior Harris County Deputy Sheriff Thomas Gilliland told Fox 26 Houston.

“It’s a 4-year-old child. Anytime you have the murder of a child it’s very terrible.”

Before the arrest Lewis bolted from the apartment and got into a crash on I-10.While at the hospital, where she had been taken after being injured in the traffic accident,she texted her boyfriend and her aunt telling them she had hurt her child and apologizing.

It wasn’t clear why Lewis killed her daughter but she got into a fight with her boy friend earlier that happened earlier that same Sunday Gilliland told the paper.

Lewis is being held in the Harris County jail Monday. Jail records do not list an attorney to speak for her.
