Judy Malinowski dies after suffering from a terrible fire burn for two years. The 33-year-old was burned by her ex-boyfriend in August 2015, she died from her injuries.


Bonnie Bowes, the mother of the deceased told NBC4i on Tuesday, saying, “That child suffered for two years to tell her own story, who has the strength to do it?”

According to NBC4i, the mother of two was soaked with gasoline and was set on fire. She had gone for 59 surgeries and spent almost two years in hospital

According to Associated Press, Malinowski's ex-boyfriend Michael Slager said that the incident was horrible and that he loved her.

A witness at the incident reported Slager to the police, the witness claimed that the pair were arguing before Malinowski was set on fire. The witness, called 911 and said that Slager used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.

Slager is now serving a 10-year prison sentence.

Malinowski’s death comes as the Ohio Senate is at the verge of passing Judy’s Law, which seeks to increase penalties in cases like hers that leave the victim permanently disfigured through the use of an accelerant.
