Liverpool have officially confirmed the signing of teenage striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea.
Sportsmail revealed on May 30 that the 19-year-old, who will wear the No 29 shirt, would join the Reds following the expiration of his contract with Chelsea on July 1.
Liverpool will have to pay compensation as he is under 23 and the fee will be determined by tribunal. It is anticipated Solanke will end up costing Liverpool in the region of £3million. He has signed a contract worth around £20,000 per week.
The striker told Liverpoolfc.com: 'It feels amazing and everyone has made me feel welcome already.
'Even just pulling on the training top, I was over the moon. Hopefully I can put on the shirt in the near future and make some good history here.'
Solanke joins the Reds fresh from scoring four goals in England U20s' successful World Cup campaign this summer.
Solanke has been a prolific goalscorer throughout Chelsea's youth ranks having been at the club from Under-8 level.
Tall, pacy and powerful, he was earmarked for an England future by Jose Mourinho before scoring seven goals on loan at Vitesse last year.
