Didier Drogba and Newcastle lead tributes to Cheick Tiote on the one-year anniversary of his sudden death.

Tiote died suddenly on 5 June 2017 after suffering from a cardiac arrest. He collapsed during a training session in China at just 30-years-old.

On the anniversary of Cheick Tiote's tragic death, compatriot Didier Drogba has shown his respects by sharing an image of the pair together during an Ivory Coast match.

He had been playing for Beijing Enterprises having moved from Newcastle just four months earlier, who have also given a tribute to their former midfielder.
