Barcelona set to reward Sergio Busquets with improved contract
Sergio Busquets has agreed an improved contract with Barcelona which will see his release clause rise to a whopping £450million.

According to Spanish newspapers Marca and Mundo Deportivo, the La Liga giants will increase the midfielder's salary until the summer of 2021.

The length of Busquets' current deal - which includes a two-year extension option until 2023 - will not change, but his release clause will jump up significantly.

The Spaniard's current contract includes a £180m clause, but the new amount will be closer to £450m according to reports.

Barca do not believe Busquets, who came through their academy system, will push to leave the club, but the new clause puts them in full control of his future.

Paris Saint-Germain have shown an interest in the 30-year-old and his team-mate Ivan Rakitic after failing to land a top central midfielder during the summer.
