Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has no doubt about Mohamed Salah’s qualities to live up to his first season showings at Liverpool.
Last season, the Egypt international returned to England and had a surreal run, raking in 44 goals in all competitions to win several individual awards, including the PFA Player of the Year award.
Fully recovered from the shoulder injury he suffered in their Uefa Champions League final loss to Real Madrid, the former Chelsea forward helped kick-start the Reds’ 2018-19 campaign last week, leading them to a 4-0 win over West Ham United.
And ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s side visit to Selhurst Park, Hodgson believes the 26-year-old can have another go this term - hoping his side manage to keep him and his teammates ‘quiet’ on Monday.
"There's no doubt in my mind that he will be good this season because of the qualities he possesses," Hodgson told Sky Sport.
"But of course for him and his club, people will keep cranking up expectations and that's not a great thing to have to deal with either for the player or the club.
