Paul Pogba’s on-running feud with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford has sparked hope among Arsenal fans of landing the United midfielder in a swap deal for Aaron Ramsey.
Contract negotiations between Arsenal and the Wales international have reportedly fallen through, with Ramsey set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Pogba, meanwhile, has endured a tumultuous relationship with United manager Mourinho in recent months, with the latest episode seeing the United boss take umbrage with Pogba’s Instagram activity during the Reds’ Carabao Cup defeat against Derby on Tuesday night.
It came the day after Pogba had his vice-captaincy stripped from him by Mourinho, following the France midfielder’s damning critique of the tactics deployed in United’s home games in which he referenced United’s famed ‘attack, attack, attack’ chant.
“We are at home and we should play much better against Wolves,” the 25-year-old said after United’s 1-1 draw against Wolves on Saturday.
“When we are at home we should attack, attack, attack. That’s Old Trafford. We are here to attack.
“I think teams are scared when they see Man United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake.”
United supporters are split as to how the feud between Mourinho and United’s record-signing should be solved, but Arsenal fans would gladly take Pogba in exchange for Ramsey after acquiring Henrikh Mkhitaryan in similar circumstances for Alexis Sanchez in January.
