The All Progressives Congress APC, governorship candidate Gboyega Oyetola has been announced as the winner of the Osun State governorship election by INEC.
He defeated his major opponent, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 482 votes.
Oyetola scored 255,505 votes while Adeleke had 255,023 votes.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) State Returning Officer, Prof. Joseph Fuwape, the APC candidate, Oyetola emerge winner having polled the highest number of votes in the Saturday September 22 governorship election, which was concluded with supplementary elections on Thursday.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore came third with 128, 053 votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate, Alhaji Mashood Adeoti and Advanced Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade came fourth and fifth with 49,742 and 7,681 votes respectively.
