Obasanjo storms Alake’s 75 birthday


Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday stormed the 75th birthday celebration of the paramount ruler of Egbaland, Dr. Micheal Adedotun Gbadebo.

The birthday ceremony kick-started on Monday with a press conference, visitation to less privilege homes on Wednesday and bestowing of titles to 10 chief on Thursday.

A Muslim prayer was observed on Friday which is the oba’s birthday at his palace in the morning and Christian prayer at St. Peter Cathedral Church in Ake.

The reception at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library was well attended by many dignitaries, with Obasanjo present at the event. Also, former Secretary General, Commonwealth, Emeka Anyoku was present.

Obasanjo, while making a presentation to the king with other members of the Abeokuta Club as their Grand Patron, said since the installation of the Alake, Ogun State had been transformed and that he believed Nigeria too would be transformed.

While Obasanjo was still delivering his speech, Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun came in as they both went to present their gifts to the king with other members of the club.

Meanwhile the arrival of Prof. Yemi Osibajo, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was sill being expected.
