Violet Brown, according to Guinness Book of Records, is the new 'oldest living person in the world' today.
Mrs. Brown, a Jamaican, 117 years and 36 days old overthrows the previous title holder Emma Morano, who was born on 29 November 1899 in the Piedmont region of Italy and died at the aged of 117 years and 137 days.
She was born on March 10, 1900 when Jamaica was a part of the British Empire, which make her the last living former subject of Queen Victoria who died in January 1901. Her son, Harold Fairweather which is 96-year-old , is widely believed to be the oldest person with a living parent.
Mrs. Brown is also the oldest verified Jamaican and first ever verified super-centenarian from the country.
She lives in the same house where she was born and she said she is still alive by the grace of God.
