CAMPUS LOCKDOWN 2 dead after murder-suicide at community college

Two people -- including the suspected shooter -- were found dead at a Dallas-area community college Wednesday, in an incident that sparked a lockdown and reports of an "active shooter."Police had earlier released a description of a suspect at North Lake College, however, a spokesperson said that after authorities found the bodies they were no longer searching for anyone.

An Irving Police spokesperson said both bodies were found inside a campus building, however, it wasn't immediately clear what building they were in, the names of the deceased or if they were students.

Witnesses had reported hearing three loud bangs they believed to be gunshots. One woman who said she saw the shooting said the incident involved a male shooting a female at close range.

North Lake issued an alert to students late Wednesday morning telling them to barricade themselves in the nearest room and wait for further instructions from police. Irving Police said on Twitter that there was an "active shooter."

North Lake College is a two-year school in the Dallas suburb of Irving.
