Italian fruit picker faces deportation for masturbating in front of an 8 year old

An Italian fruit, Salesa Casali, picker who masturbated in a supermarket and in front of an eight-year-old girl will be deported from Australia.

The 27year old, a lanky man with black curly hair wearing thick black glasses, was charged with masturbating inside Bundaberg IGA in Queensland and then in front of the young girl in separate incidents four days apart last year, according to News Mail.

The Kenyan-born migrant was also charged with creeping into a sleeping Brisbane woman's bed before fleeing through the bathroom window, a court was told.

Casali faced Bundaberg District Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to indecent treatment of a child under 12, committing an indecent act in public at the IGA, and trespass at a home in Brisbane.

Crown prosecutor Melissa Wilson condemned his actions as extremely inappropriate.

'It was a deliberate act. He had shown sexual interest in the child,' she said.

“Exposing an eight-year-old girl to an indecent act carries a maximum penalty of 20 years. That shows how serious it is,” she said.

“You went into a lady’s home and got into her bed and went to sleep. That would have been a very frightening experience for that lady.”

Ms Wilson said he had been held in custody for 325 days, which was appropriate as he would be deported on his release.

The court heard Casali was born in Kenya but was adopted by an Italian couple and raised in Venice.

He had done various jobs in Australia including fruit picking, but could not be released because he had no Australian Visa.

Judge Helen Bowskill told Casali, his offences were very serious.

He was sentenced to 325 days jail, backdated to his arrest on July 1 last year for the offence against the child.
