| Tupac and Madonna |
He ended the relationship with her because he was concerned about how the black community would react which an old letter that was recently released confirmed.
The letter which was dated Jan 15, 1995 was written by Tupac when he was in prison, the rapper who died on the afternoon of September 13, 1996, expressed his feeling of love toward her and stated the reason for his actions and why he changed his attitude towards her. The letter showed how much he loved Madonna but the relationship was torn between love and duty. Tupac wrote:
"For you to be seen with a black man wouldn't in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting."
"But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my 'image' I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was."
He acknowledged that he hurt her, writing, "I never meant to hurt you."
The letter will be auction on July 19 - 28 at Gotta Have Rock and Roll with a starting bid of $100k. The last letter that was written by Tupac was sold for more than $170k and this letter is going to be on a high scale
