Pathcare, Smile 360, Lagoon Hospitals , others bag NHE Awards 2017



PathCare Laboratories won Private Laboratory Service Provider of the Year category for the fourth time this year at the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award 2017.
The NHEA is a high profile award that has earned the reputation of being termed the Oscars of the health Sector in Nigeria, organized by Global Health, an international organization that works to save lives, reduce diseases, and improve health around the world.

The award is considered the leading Nigerian health care award that honours excellence, innovation and qualitative improvement in the nation’s health care system.

Prof. Ibironke Akinsete, the Chairperson, Board of Directors of PathCare Laboratories, also received the 2017 NHEA Lifetime Achievements Award, in recognition of her distinguished career and passionate commitment to excellence and quality health care, especially in the areas of women and AIDS.

Akinsete while giving her acceptance speech at the ceremony, attributed the awards for her and the organization as more than a recognition, but a call for further commitment to the health care delivery system in Nigeria.

She said the recognition was not just a “callout in every sphere of life;” but that the health care system is unique for the kind of role that practitioners play in the general wellbeing of the nation.

Akinsete said, “PathCare Laboratories’ continued recognition is attributable to its commitment to saving lives through accurate and reliable results, the pursuit of excellence, exceptional service delivery, technological advancement and commitment to innovation.

“The PathCare Laboratories is the first in West Africa to attain International Accreditation (ISO 15189).

“This provides the assurance of international acceptability and is an attestation to the accuracy and reliability of our results.

“Our laboratory operates under a solid ICT (Information and Communications Technology) structure and pioneered the use of Electronic Medical Record solutions in West Africa.”

She pledged the PathCare’s commitment to promoting health care system through quality care and services.

Other winners at the 2017 NHEA include JNC International Limited, which won the Innovative Healthcare Service Provider of the Year; while Eye Foundation was recognized as the Eye Care Service Provider of the Year, Lagoon Hospitals, Smile 360 also won their categories.
