Mom tried to sell 8-year-old daughter for sex at $100 rate: cops

A Texas mom is behind bars for allegedly trying to sell her 8-year-old daughter for sex, according to officials.
Carrie Sue Kelly, of Lone Oak, was charged for employing a child under age 14 for sexual performance following a six-month investigation, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Authorities said that the 44-year-old mom offered her young daughter for sex with the apps Kik and MeetMe.
Using “CKelly74” as her profile name, the mom allegedly communicated with a man in Nebraska and told him that he could have sex with the 8-year-old girl for $100.
The man contacted police and allowed an officer to use his Kik account to continue the conversation with the mom, East Texas Matters reported.
The undercover officer reportedly arranged to meet up with Kelly but she didn’t show up on the day that was set.
Kelly, however, continued to communicate with the cop and admitted to abusing other children, according to officials.
Police tracked the mom down June 4 at her daughter’s school where they confronted her. She reportedly admitted to offering her child for sex.
It’s unclear why officers didn’t apprehend her at the school but they confiscated her phone.
The mom was arrested June 12 and booked at Gregg County Jail. She remained in custody Friday on $200,000 bond.
