Nigeria would be a better country if we obey God -Okowa

The Governor of Delta State Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, at the weekend said Nigeria would be a peaceful and better country if the people would obey the word of God. The governor spoke at the second matriculation and graduation ceremony of The Meaningful Life Institute of Evangelism and Church Management at Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.

He said: “If we are committed to winning souls for Christ, obey the commandments of God, we will have a society that is very peaceful, where people do things with the fear of God, we will have good governance too.”

The governor, however, observed that God had blessed Nigeria with abundant resources, saying what the people required was to obey the word of God. He commended Acting Provost of the institution, Rev. Gideon Oyibo, for investing in an institute that would groom men of God, adding that it was also laudable that the institute was tuition-free with lecturers who had volunteered to teach without receiving salaries.

Meanwhile, Okowa at the weekend decried the call for a establishment of more higher institutions of learning in the state and maintained that his administration was committed to ensuring full accreditation of courses offered by the existing institutions across the state.
