The Osun State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke has vowed to revive the economy of the state through multi-sectoral development if elected as the governor in the September 22 gubernatorial election.

Mr Adeleke, known for his humorous dancing steps, spoke at Ede on Thursday while addressing his constituents over a forged certificate scandal.

The judge, David Oladimeji, said the case “lacks merit” and accordingly dismissed it.

However, Mr Adeleke has remained mute on the revelation that Mr Adeleke’s claim to have graduated from am American university is also false.

This newspaper published how the university stated that although the politician was once its student, he did not graduate.

Meanwhile, an unperturbed Mr Adeleke said agricultural investment is the best means to address poverty in the state.

“We will run an issue based campaign. I will focus on agriculture through investment. I am already talking to local and international stakeholders in this respect.

“We will review the state of the education sector to improve performance of our students in national examination. We used to be under single digit rating. Now Osun is number 29 or so.”

Mr Adeleke also said if elected, Osun will be back to top position in national examination ratings.

“We will improve teachers’ welfare through regular payment of salaries and provision of teaching aids. I will target education. Osun will be back to top position in national examination ratings. I will improve teachers salaries. We will pay pensioners and workers regularly. We will ensure basic education is free and functional.I will not compromise on workers welfare,” he said.

Mr Adeleke also said he will be hosting a monthly ‘accountability forum’ for the revenue and expenditure of the state to be open to the public.

Tubosun Alli said: “politicians are good at fake promises, fake certificates and fake lives. If he claims to have been vindicated by the court on his certificate, let him also speak on his denial by the American University he claimed to have graduated from too. It will be wise for Osun people to think well before voting.”
