 A 58 year old woman in Mexico has given birth to a set of twins, the mother who reportedly became pregnant after a round of IVF treatment was intensely monitored for a month before doctors decided to do a C-section.



Although older mums of twins are becoming more common, it can come with its associated risk doctors say.

The Mother and her twin babies will undergo months of monitoring and test to ensure the babies are maturing properly, said the doctors.

The woman who asked that are name not be mentioned said she trusted God to perform a miracle- who 

'During the C-section,I was very calm, I trusted in God that he would perform this miracle for us, and that everything would turn out well.

'And when I finally heard the children cry out hard, well, it filled me with joy.

'Then the paediatrician immediately took them out of the operating room to look after them.'

The babies who were christened Victoria and Victor spent three weeks in the neonatal section of the hospital because they were born prematurely.

The world's oldest verified mother of twins Maria del Carmen Bousada de Lara, from Spain, died of cancer two years after giving birth, just seven days short of her 67th birthday.

In a separate case, Mauricia Ibanez, 64, also from Spain, had to hand over her two-month-old twins to social services earlier this month after they ruled they were 'at risk.'
