Lionel Messi describes Real Madrid defeat as a 'f***** up'

 Cristiano Ronaldo managed to see the funny side at training despite being handed a five-match ban for his controversial red card in the Clasico.

Ronaldo appeared to again taunt his great rival Lionel Messi by posing with his 'winning team' after a quick return to Real Madrid training.

Messi has bluntly described Barcelona's defeat by Real Madrid as 'f***** up' after the Argentinian saw Ronaldo and Co storm the Nou Camp in the first Clasico of the campaign.

Messi put no filter on his emotions as he took in the previous day's events on Monday morning.

The Portuguese struck a pose alongside team-mates Lucas Vazquez, Dani Ceballos, Nacho and Achraf Hakimi and included the caption: 'Great session this morning!!! Winning team.'

Barcelona began life after Neymar with a 3-1 reverse against their greatest rivals in the Spanish Super Cup first leg and Ronaldo took centre stage as he scored a stunning winner before being sent off.

Posting a picture of himself training on Instagram, Messi's caption translated to: 'F***** up day but you have to get up and go. This is just starting.'

While Ronaldo may be enjoying the bragging rights for now, he has now been banned for five matches - plus a £2,700 - for pushing referee Ricardo de Burgos Bergoetxea after being shown a second yellow for an apparent dive.

The Portuguese had been given his first warning only minutes earlier after removing his shirt to celebrate his goal and was then given his marching orders after going down under the challenge of Samuel Umtiti.

Article 96 of the rulebook applies to players who 'grab, push or shake' a referee in a 'slightly violent manner' and recommends a four to 12 game suspension for such offences.

Messi buried a penalty in the ill-tempered match to cancel out Gerard Pique's own goal, but Barcelona again found themselves behind when Ronaldo came off the bench and fired in a stunning effort.
