A little girl was left with brutal injuries after she was savaged by a peacock at a zoo.

Jessica Redfern, six, was in an area where visitors are encouraged to interact with animals such as goats and rabbits.

But her parents say the peacock "clawed her neck" and "sliced right through the end of her nose".

After the attack her family said Jessica spent several hours at hospital, where the wound was glued.

Her father is now calling for better warning information to be displayed at Paignton Zoo in Devon.
