Pep Guardiola will be hoping that Xabi Alonso's attendance at Manchester City training will inspire his team to greater success ahead of their Premier League title defence.
Former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich midfielder Alonso turned up to City's training session ahead of their big kick-off against Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates.
The Spaniard was spotted in deep conversation with Guardiola on the touchline before sharing a joke with the City manager and his coaching staff on Wednesday in Manchester.
