Principal Penalized for using School Bus to Transport Firewood

The Principal of E.P College of Education (AMECO) in the Volta Region of Ghana has been suspended for three months for allowing the use of the school bus to carry firewood.
Reverend Sylvanus K. Tettey was suspended following a meeting between him and officials of the Education Ministry on Friday.

The meeting was called after images of the bus loaded with logs went viral on social media platforms last week.

The Eicher Bus with registration number GV 158-16, was one of the 500 buses presented to schools across the country in June 2016 by Fmr. President John Dramani Mahama.

 For some reason, the E.P College of Education at Amedzofe in the Volta Region decided to use its bus to carry firewood for use by the school’s store.

Tettey’s explanation was unconvincing after he was asked to explain the reason for using the bus in that manner, justifying the sanction on him.

AMECO is a mixed teacher training institute located at Amedzofe in the Ho West Municipality in the Volta Region.
